Days 2 and 3 · two films, one red suit

The simulmake

Two films made as a pair and released together. Each one complete on its own. One keeps the light, the other keeps the dark, on purpose. Between them is a third thing nobody filmed.

A simulmake is a release framework: two films designed from the start to exist together, released on the same day, on a shared axis that only shows when you know both exist. Not a franchise, not a sequel, and not an accident of timing. The full definition is at 119minutes.com/simul-make.

Do not think about Barbenheimer. You just did. That’s the NLP working.

The two halves

Santa Origins (Day 2) is a warm, wonderful family Christmas movie: the untold origin of the kindest soul in the world, a man who would become good, but not yet. Read in full at santaoriginsmovie.krisadamstv.com.

The Real Thing (Day 3) is a villain’s-perspective alternate-history comedy about the most beloved soft drink on Earth, a company that named itself LEAVESNUTS. They took the secret ingredient out, the world went into withdrawal, and the genius who saves the company doesn’t put it back. He learns to hide it. Two films, one red suit

One of these films is for children. The Council has not said which. Both of them end with a man in a red suit and a present you didn’t see arrive. Ask who paid for it.

Both films are given away whole, for free: no script to option, no rights to negotiate, no author to flatter. Whoever makes it, makes it. On the Mystic Theatre they were played as readings, one a day, with the house sign-off at the end of each: “Now blow out the lamp, and go to bed.”

And then a 119

Day 5’s ask is two simulmakes and a 119: five movies in a year. A 119 is a film of 119 minutes, not 120. The minute you get back is a gift from Villain Con. Want to make one? 119minutes.com.
