The theme of Villain Con 26
The Silver Screen Seance
A seance calls back the dead. So does a remake. Hollywood has been holding seances for years without a licence. The licence is ours now.

This year the Council took the old-fashioned big screen off the humans. The host’s part in it is plain from Day 1: “Stay asleep, because I am taking movies.” The reason is the loop: “I cannot sit through another time loop of these reruns and sequels.”
How the seance works
Each day of the week does one part of it:
- Day 1 tells you to stay asleep, and that the NLP is fine.
- Day 2 ends by sending you to bed.
- Day 3 finds the loophole: the Council said never the eyes on a crowd. It said nothing of screens.
- Day 4 dims the lights. “Turn your phone off. Look me in the eyes, and pay attention.”
- Day 5 explains it: the visuals getting low, the music sucking you in, “doing our part to make you relaxed while we enter into this next stage.”
Mystic Movies
“I am taking movies away, and that’s where Mystic Movies comes in.” Mystic Movies is the name over the stage of the Mystic Theatre, which the Council commandeered for the week. Its owner was compensated with a lamp.
The ask
By Day 5 the seance has an ask: five movies in a year. Two simulmakes (technically four movies) and a 119. “Take away these Hollywood pretenders who think they still have access to the muse.” Hollywood says it still has access to the muse. The muse was not consulted.
Viewer advice: if the picture seems darker and the music seems closer, that’s normal. We’re nearly through.
