Day 1: Stay asleep

The week opens masked. The mask comes off: “I don’t think the airborne virus is here inside this room.” Then the instruction that runs the whole week: stay asleep.

Day one of Villain Con 2026 “is looking like nothing but easy breezy”. There has been a threat, a couple of days ago, that put the entire internet at risk. “Not our sites, our sites are fine, right? Good.”

He reminds you that he told you all this two years ago, at Villain Con 24: when it asks whether you want to do it automatically, stop saying yes. “And presumably you listened to me.”

The orders

This year the host is not acting alone. “I’ve been ordered to take something off your plate.” If it turns out not to be a good thing, “it’s not my decision”. It is the Council’s.

The NLP

It’s not against you. It’s through you, into your mind, and against your own conscious mind. No, hold on, NLP is fine. Don’t worry about it. Stay asleep.
Day 1

The inversion

Every other year the message has been the same: wake up, be alive in the present. Not this year.

I’ve been telling you to wake up and be alive in the present, but not this Villain Con. Stay asleep, because I am taking movies.
Day 1

The reason is the loop. “I cannot sit through another time loop of these reruns and sequels.” There is a Back to the Future remake on the way: “can you think of anything more ironic than doing a time travel movie again?” So movies are being taken away, “and that’s where Mystic Movies comes in”. That is the Silver Screen Seance, and the Mystic Theatre is where it happens.

Day 1: the host beside a Council notice saying the Mystic Theatre has been commandeered for the week — By order of the Council, the Mystic Theatre has been commandeered for the week. The owner was compensated with a lamp.

The sign-off: “Stay asleep, and then stay safe out there, things are getting rough. We’ll probably explain what I’m talking about by day five. This is all gonna become clear to you, and mainly me.”

Day 1 was the first of five dailies. Each one aired first on Snapchat (Lord Kris Adams) and the whole week is in the widescreen film on Kris Adams TV.
